TITLE: Factors Affecting the Saving Behavior of Management Accounting Students of

Saint Mary's University

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The researchers will conduct a preliminary investigation about the factors affecting the

saving behavior of the Management Accounting Students of Saint Mary's University during their

vacant period. By the use of survey, the respondents answered few questions that assessed their

behavior on the different factors that affects their savings.

Survey approach will be employed through direct encounter with the selected participants

in order to gather relevant and credible data.

RATIONALE:

This study will be conducted to determine the factors affecting the saving behavior of

Management Accounting students of Saint Mary's University. Understanding whether on how

different factors may influenced the respondents on their saving behavior. This will be a basis for

determining the considered benefits and hindrances on their savings that will be useful in

designing an effective recommendation to improved personal finance of Management

Accounting students of Saint Mary's University.

OBJECTIVES:

The researchers are interested to know the factors that affect the saving behavior of

Management Accounting students of Saint Mary's University. After determining the level of

influenced of the Management Accounting students and it will be statistically correlated with the

respondents' profiles. All of these are done for the purpose of the creation of possible

recommendations for the improvement of personal finance of Management Accounting students

of Saint Mary's University . This study aims to determine the factors affecting the saving behavior of the Management

Accounting Students of Saint Mary's University.

Specifically, the study aims to answer the following questions.

1. What is the profile of the Management Accounting Students of Saint Mary's University

in terms of:

1.1 age;

1.2 sex;

1.3 year;

1.4 source of Allowances; and

1.5 allowances per month?

2. What is the level of influence to the saving behavior of a Management Accounting

student of Saint Mary's University in terms of the following factors:

2.1. Financial Literacy;

2.2. Parental Socialization;

2.3. Peer Influence; and

2.4. Self-Control

3. Is there significant difference in the level of the influence of the factors affecting the

saving behavior of the Management Accounting students of Saint Mary's University

when they are grouped according to their profiles?
