Once you have completed the simulation and digested the information that you have collected, please prepare a short paper that responds to the prompts below. Please follow the formatting guidelines and be sure that you use section headings to organize your paper.

As you prepare your assessment, please consider, and provide an analysis of the following events associated with the scenario presented:

A DDoS attack that appears to target specific ORC network components, indicating a potentially sophisticated and specifically targeted attack.

A potential social engineering attack.

A crash of the fulfillment systems server.

A recently discovered security vulnerability at ORC

Please address the following questions in your paper.

1. Regarding each of the events in the bullet list, what do you know? What dont you know? Please refer to evidence to support your discussion.

2. Do you believe that the evidence supports the proposition that ORC was the victim of a cyberattack? Please explain in detail and provide supporting evidence.

3. Do you believe that the evidence supports the proposition that there are (or could be) intruders in ORCs network? Can you rule out the possibility of intruders? Why or why not?

4. How do you respond to the recommendations made by Ellen Ripley and Amit Gupta? Briefly explain your decision.

Ellen Ripley: We play it safe. Let's stay shut down and rebuild systems from development files, which are less likely to have been infiltrated. Otherwise, we can't be sure the intruders haven't left behind some kind of time bomb. Closing our current security holes won't help if they've already left something behind.

Amit Gupta: There might be an in-between option. We could restart for now and build up a mirror of our production systems on new hardware. Once we've got it up and running, we could take down the current system. That would avoid a shutdown.

5. Briefly reflect on the simulation and what you learned.
