Re: Overseas Contracting Employees Working Conditions
I have recently discovered that one of our partner contractors whom is a major supplier is practicing poor work conditions for employees. These conditions are but not limited to child labor, not adhering to country standards, working long hours without a break, being paid low wages and not furnishing proper benefits to their employees.
When referencing the company's history and morals, we are built on a foundation of caring, honesty, respect and family. One of our goals are to always provide a safe work environment and treat everyone equal. As a company we work hard to stay competitive with the benefit packages, contributing learning resources, ensure resources are available to everyone. This company exert oneself on following the rules, abiding by the laws and standards issued by local, state and federal authorities and regulations set by the board of directors.
On behalf of the company I am going to contact the management of overseas contracting in writing to address the issues. I am going to provide them 30 days to respond to the letter. In the meantime, I will continue to investigate the company while awaiting their response. I am also going to research other supplier as well as other current suppliers to make sure they are operating at a level of respect and integrity that our company values.
As a company I feel it is in our best interest to end ties with the contractor if necessary so we are not violating the morals and beliefs of our company. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or recommendations.
