To do the rest of this homework you will need to watch the classic documentary film Harvest of Shame (52 minutes). Edward R. Murrow, a pioneer in broadcast journalism, narrated and co-produced the film. CBS first aired it just after Thanksgiving Day in 1960. Its intent was "to shock Americans into action." Even though farm labor markets and (especially in California) some farm labor laws have changed since then, the issues raised are still largely relevant, making this film a good basis for a problem set. Think of it as field work!
