To password protect a document, go to "File." then "Save As$."$ A dialog box will appear. Next to the "Save" button, select "Tools," then "General Options."Type in your password in the "open the file" box and press "Enter." You will then confirm the password by typing it into the next dialog box and pressing "Enter" again. Click "Save."
