To prepare a data set for the StatCrunch Assignments in the course, you will first need to select a random sample of students from StatCrunch U. StatCrunch U is a virtual university made up of 46,000 students (the population). Each student completed a survey consisting of 6 questions. The responses of these 46,000 students form a database containing all the information for the students.

You will select a sample of 100 students from this population and analyze the data from the sample to draw conclusions about the entire population. We want our sample to be unbiased, so we will start by selecting a random sample of size 100.

You will focus on a formulating and answering a question related to a categorical variable that can be answered using your survey data and the techniques you have studied thus far in this course. The question you formulate should be about the entire population of StatCrunch U studentsnot just about those in the sample. Assume that your sample is representative of the population.

Be focusing on one of the categorical variables in the sample you made in assignment 1A. Indicate the variable on which you will be focusing.

Formulate a question related to the variable you chose. Your question should be simple and focus only on the variable you chose. For example, my question might be 'What proportion of male students are in class 3 at StatCrunch University?' You are not allowed to use this example question. Be sure your question is about the population (StatCrunch University), not just the students in your sample.

What type of graph/chart will you use to describe your data? Be sure to choose a graph/chart that is appropriate for a categorical variable.
