To test the effectiveness of Puppy Chow as a reward on rates of obedience in dogs, a behavioral psychologist gave dogs raised in animal shelters a reward of Puppy Chow every time they obeyed commands and used dogs raised in family homes as a control group. Number of obedient acts was compared between the shelter dogs and family home dogs to see if Puppy chow was effective at improving rates of obedience.
