Too Hot, Too Cold, Just Right The Organization: Widget Inc. is a highly automated light manufacturing company located in Mobile, Alabama. The primary product made at the plant is a revolutionary new consumer product called a "Whatzit." Shipments of product are made to giants such as Wal-Mart, Sears, and K-Mart, as well as many other small independently owned retailers. The work force consists of three distinct groups of people: (1) clerical employees, (2) production/shipping employees, and (3) salespeople. Each group of employees is approximately equal in size and there is no union at the plant. The Scenario: The clerical employees complain that the temperature setting is too low. They do not leave the plant for lunch and after 8.5 hours in the plant, each one of the clerical employees feels like a frozen cryogenic experiment.
