Tod is an accountant who runs his own practice. His daughter, Violet who is aged 18 and is completing the first year of an accounting degree notices that her dad has been struggling with an excessive work load during financial year end and volunteers to assist her dad for a couple of hours during the week. Tod is grateful and observing that Violet has been doing a great job, stated he would pay her $500 for her services rendered so far. He then stated that going forward, he was happy to pay her $20 an hour for any assistance she could provide. Violet who worked as a part-time waitress calculated that she would be financially better off working for her dad and dedicated 18 hours a week assisting him in his practice. Now having worked in the practice for a total of 3months, Violet claims she has not been paid for any of her work (including the $500 she was promisedearlier).
