As you think back through your program, what do you think are some of the most pressing challenges facing professionals in the field of environmental policy and management? Why? What current events can you point to in order to support your position? Locate and find examples of careers dealing with the environment that has projected growth in the coming years and discuss how the emphasis on alternative energies and "going green" is playing a role in this growth.

Topic 2: The Future of Energy

In looking back at your program, one theme that has emerged is the debate between the environment and energy. The United States has a long history of use and dependence on fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. Recent years have seen the development of alternative or green energies, such as solar, wind, and hydraulic.
