TOPIC: Health Care for International Students:

How does it work and does it work well enough? Students are to find an article dealing with a current (last 3 years*) hot topic in Canadian health care law. You will learn about the issue and distill it down to a 3 minute presentation that lays out a view at the topic through a legal lense. You are not to summarize the article. The article is only to serve as a jumping off point to get you thinking about the topic.

Do not simply summarize the article or recount the textbook. Please keep in mind that we are looking for a legal perspective on these issues. What is the new/proposed legislative framework? What patient/community rights are at issue? Why is this topic politically sensitive? Why have we not solved this issue yet? How/why does Canada's approach differ from other countries? What are the barriers? What rights are at stake? Create an illustrative case study, etcetera. Do not try to do all of the foregoing. Three minutes is a short time. This assignment requires to you choose a narrow focus and plan your message. Editing is key.
