There are often delays in producing contracts of employment for new staff and entering them on the payroll, and some staff are not paid for their first month of employment. The company uses paper timesheets, which seem to be one cause for the delay. Working hours can vary considerably from month to month, and overtime is common. Each employee is required to submit a paper timesheet and invoice which must have been countersigned by a manager and which must reach the finance office ten working days before the end of each month for processing by the payroll department. Managers are not always available to process staff claims, and hourly staff pay is rarely calculated accurately. Staff is rarely paid on time.
