Transcribed image text: UTeM is planning to install solar panels to provide some of the electricity for the Faculty of Manufacturing building for 8 years. There are two proposals by the vendors. Both proposals are: Proposal 1: The installation phase will cost RM40,000 in year 1 and RM60,000 in year 2. This solar installation will result in supplying electrical energy of RM20,000 in year 2 to year 4, RM30,000 in year 5, and amounts increasing by 7% per year through year 8. This proposal comes with free maintenance. Proposal 2: For this proposal, the installation phase will take 3 years. The installation will cost RM15,000 from year 1 to year 3. This investment will result in supplying electrical energy of RM18.000 starting from year 2 to year 8. This proposal requires minimal maintenance which is free maintenance for early 3 years and pay the annual maintenance cost of RM2,000 starting at year 4 till the end. Recommend the best proposal with a Minimum Attractive Rate of Return set by the company at 5% per year
