TRANSFER OF FUNDS FNEI case. The OIG made several recommendations to mitigate ethic violations and appearances of impropriety. I think they fell short by only recommending that the Miami-Dade County Public School Superintendent (M-DCPS) recuse himself from any discussion, vote, or decision by the FNEI Board regarding the $1.57 million donated by K12 for $100 M-DCPS teacher gift cards. The FNEI board of directors include the M-DCPS Superintendent and the Chairperson.
