Transportation Pricing The boss is impressed with your initial recommendationsand wants your help in optimising the transportation costs for the company. The company relies on several service providers for its shipping needs, and these service providers use different methods in determining prices for their services. Occasionally, the company pays different amounts for the seemingly identical shipments and the boss is not entirely clear why this may be the case. You are being asked to prepare a report that explains how pricing for transportation services is developed by carriers in the five modes of transportation. Be specific to include what factors go into the creation of transportation rates. Then, provide the standard forms of pricing in each mode. To illustrate your discussion points, develop at least one example of a pricing calculations using your selected Product, Volume, Origin and Destination. Make reasonable assumptions as needed. You are now an experienced analyst at the company, and your knowledge is highly valued by other team members. One dayat the water cooler you get approached by a newly hired employee who is still learning about transportation. She tells you that she is curious about containerized freight in the different modes of transportation and want to know about the benefits and detriments it provides.
