Truth is Tricky At first thought and without much thought, many people simply agree that, of course, there's truth. In fact, according to a famous communication researcher, Grice, he says that whenever we come into conversation with someone, especially someone we don't know very well or at all, we will naturally try to cooperate in that conversation. One of the components of cooperative communication is the idea of truth. To cooperate in conversation we will tell the truth AND we will assume that the other person is telling us the truth as well. If you think about it, it's very much the case. When you start talking to someone-- you will automatically assume that they're telling you the truth. You know, unless you're super bitter because of past experiences and all that. I have many, many conversations in my career both as a student and a professor about truth. Does truth exist? Can something really be true if it isn't true for everyone? I always come away a little sweaty and usually a bit defeated, and admit there's no such thing as truth. Come up with your own ideas though! Here are some other interpretations about truth. phi The Nature of Truth - Epistemology | WIRELESS ... Share Watch on THE NATURE OF TRUTH YouTube 1.
