WHAT IS AS3901?

AS3901 as we know it is an Australian Standard for quality systems.

A standard:

is a set of requirements that must be achieved in order to ensure that a product, service or system is capable of performing or operating in a manner it is supposed to and that operations are being performed in accordance with the written documents.

ISO9001 was established by the International Standards Organisation and covers quality assurance in design/development, production, installation and servicing.

It is a customer's guarantee that anything purchased from Xpress will have been produced in the way that will ensure quality, performance, functionality and consistency.

AS 3901 accreditation will give our customers confidence in our products and services, making independent inspections unnecessary.

To achieve accreditation, a totally independent body, BVQ1 Bureau Veritas (an internationally recognised auditing group) will visit us for approximately three days, possibly four. During their stay they will audit and examine everything we have established in the way of procedures, manuals, inspection and testing plans very closely to ensure:

1. We operate and do the job the same way that we have written.

2. The way that we do our jobs and run the system will ensure our customers of a quality product.

We are all, from the factory hand to the General Manager, responsible for the system.

Probably the largest role and the most important in the quality system is the factory floor personnel. The procedures have been written by the representatives in consultation with operators in every section, with the total support of the management team.

Together if we follow and use the system the way it has been established, we will no doubt achieve accreditation this year.

The company and employees will benefit in job satisfaction, security and profitability.
