Two precepts of Operations Management are efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency is important in many areas of Operations as it can affect cost and schedule. Effectiveness however takes on another element of Operations and is just as important. There is also discussion of late that states that efficiency and effectiveness are overrated and over used terms relative to Operations, what are your thoughts?
