Two Registered Nurses (RNs) are available to triage and enter any pre-existing medical conditions that must be noted for vaccination. The first RN is using a faster laptop and completes screening in about 2 minutes (on average) and the second RN is screening in 3 minutes (on average) as he is using an older laptop. Once screening is complete, vaccine recipients would either go to the Moderna vaccine booth where an RN administers their second dose of Moderna and monitor the potential immediate reaction within 4 minutes (on average) or they would go to the Pfizer vaccine booth where an NB administers their second dose of Pfizer vaccine in 5 minutes (on average) and monitors the potential immediate reaction. All recipients will be monitored by a newborn for 2 minutes (on average) in a tent to ensure they do not have a severe secondary reaction to the newly received vaccine before being allowed to leave. In recent months, the clinic has received and administered an equal number of Moderna and Pfizer vaccines (50% each). Health officials are considering expanding mobile operations and have hired you as a consultant to help them make that decision. To do this you need:
Identify where (what activity or activities) might hinder or slow down the operation and why? Mark the bottleneck(s) in the flowchart
On average, how many vaccines (Moderna + Pfizer) can be processed per hour in this operation?
