Two streams containing air and water vapour are mixed. The first stream has a flowrate of 3,000 kg/h, a dry-bulb temperature of 53C and a wet-bulb temperature of 22C. The second stream is saturated with an enthalpy of 95 kg/kJ. The two streams are mixed to form a stream with a temperature of 39C. This mixed stream is cooled until condensation occurs.
With the aid of a humidity chart, determine the following:
(a) The values of humidity and enthalpy of the first stream.
(b) The values of dry-bulb temperature and humidity of the second stream
(c) The flowrate of the second stream.
(d) The temperature at which the first condensation occurs in the mixed stream.
(e) The heat removed from the mixed stream by cooling in kW.
