Northanger Developments Ltd owns the freehold title to two plots of land adjacent to the plot under Grovesfield's ownership and control.
During the course of the construction of the office block on Grovesfield's land, Careful Construction Ltd, a local firm engaged by Grovesfield to construct the office block, place tower cranes on Grovesfield's land for the purposes of carrying out the construction. The booms of these cranes oversail Northanger's land at various times during the course of the construction.
