1. Ultrasonography can be used clinically to identify patients with acute appendices. To evaluate its accuracy against computed tomography (considered to be the gold standard/reference test), a researcher conducted a study on 200 cases. Of these 200 cases, 100 had acute appendices using computed tomography test. A total of 90 cases had true-positive results (both ultrasonography test and computed tomography positives) of 130 cases of breath test positive results (total positive result from ultrasonography test being tested).
