Under the definition of vertical privity - it states that vertical privity includes sale, lease, inheritance, and forceclosure, but not adverse possession - b/c the prior owner did not formally transfer her interest .

Could you explain more about why adverse possession isn't included? (is it talking about the prior owner who asserted adverse possession or the prior owner who had an adverse possessor try to take their land?, etc.) Thanks!
