Undocumented parents make up a vast proportion of US, yet there is still no proper healthcare coverage for them. The unfortunate reality is that it is harder for an undocumented immigrant to access acceptable prenatal care than other U.S residents. Many States do not provide publicly funded prenatal care to immigrants due to the prohibition on the use of federal funding to provide care for immigrants that have resided in the US for less than 5 years. Immigrants are then forced to seek care by paying our of pocket.
