This article focuses on unemployment in Jamaica. Unemployment is macroeconomics problem most countries face including Jamaica. There are different types of unemployment such as a type of voluntary unemployment that arises because of the time needed to match job seekers with job openings, another happens when a large amount of unemployed workers (labour force) isn't qualified for a large amount of labour force demand. Whilst some persons are employed temporarily for reasons such as a hotel or supermarket needing extra help because of Christmas or summer but will cut loose those workers when that period is finished. Another form of unemployment occurs when there is fluctuation in unemployment that is incurred by business cycles, more specially, the unemployment caused by economic recessions.
