Unit 6: Disease Awareness Project Objective: Research ONE disease that is prevalent in your community and development a brochure/flier that can be used to create awareness of the disease. Disease may include maternal and child health, heart disease or stroke, diabetes, cancer, oral disease, behavioral health, etc. *Please reach out to your teacher if you are unsure if a disease is appropriate for confirmation before beginning your project.* Directions: Create an interesting brochure/flier with the computer program of your choice about your chosen disease to educate your community that includes at least the following: 1. Percentage of cases in your community 2. Causes of disease 3. Signs/Symptoms of disease 4. Cures/ Treatments if available 5. Location for your community to find further information 6. Include at least one organization promoting awareness of the disease on your brochure *You may include additional information, but the above 6 are required!* Additional Requirements: A minimum of TWO images/pictures on the brochure
