Scenario

RB Holdings has an organisational policy that requires you, as one of its staff members, to identify the various contracts that are available for different types of projects. With the knowledge of available contracts, you will be able to select and make an appropriate construction contract for a given project, no later than 5 working days from receiving the request from their manager, Construction Manager Joe Lurgano.

As part of your Contract Administration duties, Task 1 requires you to appraise the various types of building and construction contracts and describe the essential terms, elements and legal requirements that apply to contracts, including clarifying the rights and liabilities of parties within the context of construction projects. Task 2 will then require you to make an appropriate contract for a given project and present the final version to the management of RB Holdings for feedback and approval.

Compare the following project types and select a suitable construction contract that will be appropriate for each project type:

A low-rise, commercial building project without a supervising architect.

Residential building work to the value of $18,000.

A residential building project valued at $745,000.
