University students have many competing demands that can lead to feeling stressed or overloaded. At the same time, they often face these demands away from their usual supports of family and friends, especially when they've moved to a new community or even a new country. Universities have attempted to provide supports that are useful to students. However, it's difficult to know if there are gaps in services provided. Request for Proposals The TRU Student Union must conduct a review and generate a set of recommendations around student support services at TRU, specifically in the areas of mental and physical health. To aid this, TRUSU is seeking research into the current services available on campus and what other college/universities offer in terms of support services for their students. Expected deliverables for this project will be a 1200-word report synthesizing current services at TRU and services at other campuses to help TRUSU establish a policy and recommendations on student mental and physical health services. TRUSU understands the wide range of research and approaches to this field of study. Therefore, we welcome carefully scoped proposals that clearly indicate the range and limits of the study. Proposals to complete this research must include the following headings: Introduction and Background Statement of Approach Scope with preliminary reading/research list Project management approach Timeline with development phases for key deliverables Assignment of responsibility
