UNSW Business School is a powerhouse of business education and research in the AsiaPacific region. "Our mission is to be a globally engaged, high impact and academically rigorous business school that enhances practice through leading edge research." The UNSW BusinessSchool is home to some of Australia's leading minds in business and industry, and its enduring links with the business community define the UNSW Business School's hands-on and grounded approach to teaching, research and lifelong learning.

The UNSW Business School currently offers its Degrees and courses across two (2) Semesters, each of 12 weeks duration (S1 and S2). They also offer one 6-week Summer Session (S3). Each course offered by the UNSW Business School is a 6 units- of-credit Course. Under the current system, students can undertake a maximum study load of 24 units-of-credit per Semesters 1 and 2, and a maximum of 6 units-of-credit over the Summer Session. A typical UG (undergraduate) Degree is comprised of 144 units-of-credit, whilst a typical PG (postgraduate degree) is comprised of 96 units-of- credit. A current taskforce is considering the introduction of a progressive new academic calendar via the implementation of three (3) 10-week teaching terms (T1, T2, T3), plus an optional 5-week Summer Term (T4).

This is not the first time in its history that the UNSW Business School has taken the bold move to adapt its academic calendar, the most recent change was in 2008. The UNSW Business School is excited about the prospect of this impending change to its academic calendar, to take effect 2022. However, before embarking upon this new strategic initiative, the Senior Management Team of UNSW has commissioned you to undertake a study on the viability of this new proposal.

In addition, you have been asked to consider the best way to help ensure that everyone across the UNSW Business School community is prepared for this exciting change-should

the project be given the green light to be implemented.
