She is 66 years old. Her 2023 net income is made up of employment income of $86,800 and Old Age Security Benefits or $8,250. In 2023 her employer withheld (deducted) maximum CPP and EI contributions. Other information pertaining to 2023 is as follows:
1) Her spouse is 52 years old and qualifies for the disability tax credit. His net income in 2023 was $5,000.
2) They have two children, Sam aged 14 and Lori aged 17. Sams net income was $2,700 and Loris net income was $2,000. In September 2023, Lori began full-time attendance at Durham College. Mary paid Loris tuition of $5,000 of which $2,500 was for the fall semester and $2,500 was for the 2024 semester. Lori is willing to transfer the maximum tuition credit to her mother.
3) The family had eligible medical expenses for the year of $2,843, all of which were paid by Mary. Included in the $2,843 in medical expenses paid by Mary was $300 paid for Sam and $900 paid for Lori.
