Uruguay Round (1986-1994) led to the creation of WTO in 1995. More recently, WTO's Doha Rounds that began in 2001 with a key focus on giving a boost to developing countries resulted in a split between the developed nations and the developing nations including BRICs. Global recessions put Doha agenda on hold and many nations set up their own regional and bilateral agreements to the dismay of WTO. (1) What is status of Doha agenda and (2) what is your opinion of the future of WTO given recent pandemic crisis?
