US Automobile Industry Data In preparation of developing a forecast of US automobile sales we will pull together the relevant data. At this time, let's focus on historical data through 2017. We will work on forecasting beyond this historical period further down in this sheet. The data spans from 1990 in row 112 to 2017 in row 139. We have already imported: 'Registered Automobiles' from the National Transportation Statistics 2013 report, published by the US Department of Transportation. Total Automobile Sales' from the National Transportation Statistics 2013 report, published by the US Department of Transportation. You need to assemble the additional data. The 'Data Automobiles' Sheet contains source data that must be assembled into the analysis below. Use the VLOOKUP function to pull the 'Total Households' data into the analysis (shaded in grey). Pull the 'Average Automobile Age' data into the analysis (shaded in grey). Try to use the MATCH and INDEX functions (extra challenge points) but otherwise use the VLOOKUP function. Warning : Some students create formulas that result in 'Circular References", partucularly in Column J. A circular reference accours when one cell references a second cell and the second cell references the first. The formula in A1 is '=B1' The formula in B1 is '=A1' A circular reference can also be created indirectly when one cell ultimately referenes itself through a series of interim cells. The formula in A1 is '=B1' The formula in B1 is ' =Cl The formula in C1 is '=A1' Expansion Automobile Sales Replacement Automobile Sales US Automobile Industry Data In preparation of developing a forecast of US automobile sales we will pull together the relevant data.
