Solve for equations 1 and 2 for yPA and xRA (mole fractions). Initial estimates are yPA = xRA = 0.5.

Equations (1-2) below are derived from mass balance on component A and mass transfer of component A, respectively, for a membrane separation system: yP=xFxR(1)yP=xR(11)(1)[(1xR)(1)(1xFxF)(1)xR(1)] Where yPA and xRA are mole fraction of A in permeate and in retentate, respectively. Known parameters are: xF=0.21,=0.2,=2.6. Solve the Eqs. (1-2) for yPA and xRA. As mole fractions are in the range of 0 to 1 , you can take yPA =0.5 and xRA=0.5 as their initial estimates
