3.1Empiricism is a philosophical philosophy that can be used in various fields, such as science and software development, according to which much of what we know about the world originates from our five senses. Empiricism refers to knowledge as a posteriori, or "from the latter," which means acquired via experience.

3.2Like Aristotle, John Locke was an empiricist. The Tabula Rasa, or "Blank Slate," was a key concept in Lockean thinking. According to John Locke, all people have a blank, empty, pliable mind at birth; every aspect of one's personality is something that is observed, perceived, and taught through the senses.

In the "nature vs nurture" controversy, the Tabula Rasa favours nurture biologically. In terms of philosophy, it recognizes the idea of free will. Freud, for example, ardently believed in the Tabula Rasa and would expand the point by noting the significance of observed behaviour from our family dynamics. Later philosophers would interpret the idea into their own works.

This notion is consistent with Locke's views on natural rights. Despite the fact that we do not have any innate beliefs, acquired behaviour can be used to our natural rights in order to get the best possible results for oneself.

3.3Generally speaking, there are four sources of knowledge: empiricism, rational induction, intuition, and authority. Knowledge received by a feeling or thought that may prove to be accurate is referred to as intuition. Authority is a source of information that you learn from your parents or from a book that explains why something is the way it is. A source of knowing through justification and evidence is rational induction. This kind of information is obtained by supposing one thing and then demonstrating it, or by providing a demonstration in any other manner you choose. Empiricism is the accumulation of information by diligent observation, variable modification using the scientific method, replication of study designs, and the intake of data for analysis. Due to the use of statistics and the belief in probabilistic conclusions by psychologists, empiricism is the recognized function of knowledge in psychological study. People often act in a single manner in the majority of circumstances, and statistics are used to determine whether two factors are related. The other sources of psychological information are not recognized. Because they are unsupported by any source of data or observable facts, authority and intuition are not recognized sources of knowledge for psychological study. Since rational induction requires demonstration and certaintytwo things' psychologists avoidit is not recognized as a reliable source of knowledge.
