use the course content ofHuman Behavior in Businessto answer questions ABC Corporation is a small enterprise with 100 employees and four managers. John and Jane are co-workers who got along well with each other until they found themselves assigned to work on Project D as a duo. Since their supposed partnership, they have been arguing about how to meet the objectives of the project. On Monday while having lunch at the company cafeteria, John and Jane engage in an intense debate about Project D. Told about their lively discussion, Manager E sends them email, to wit: "Greetings. I heard there may have been a small discussion earlier at the cafeteria. I want you all to know I appreciate the work you have been doing on the project. I know we keep good relationships in the company, but I also understand that workplace stress can sometimes get the better of us. Let's keep the jovial atmosphere." On Tuesday, John and Jane once again get into a loud argument in the cafeteria. This time around, Manager F opts to step in and fires off an email which notes: "John and Jane, you've worked on a number of projects together in the five years you have been with ABC. I know you are very passionate about the work you're doing here. I also know that you sometimes disagree with each other in the course of your work. At the end of the day, however, I'm sure you will do what's best for the company and look at the big picture." On Wednesday, yet another clash happens between John and Jane at lunch. Manager G has a go at it, sending an email that reads: "John and Jane, if you cannot get along and maintain professionalism, the company will have no choice but to terminate you both. Consider this your final warning. The public spats must stop now." On Thursday, Jane sees documents on her desk scattered about when she arrives in the morning for work. It takes her half a day to day to reconstitute the documents and restore order to her desk. She suspects that John did it. She informs Manager H about what happened via email. In response, Manager H immediately summons her, along with John, to the conference room. "I understand that the two of you have been having boisterous arguments in the cafeteria about Project D. Let's talk this through in an orderly fashion. I'm handing you both a sheet of paper. On the sheet you have, list all the things you disagree with the other on the project. We will go through them one by one, and this day will not end without us resolving them all." List and discuss all the conflict management strategies that are at play in the situation. State whether you think the strategies employed by each of the managers are right or wrong, and why. Defend your contentions based on what you have learned from the course
