Intake Interview Client: Lanesha Robinson
Lanesha is a 35 yr. old African American female with ombre colored locs. She has a 15 yr. old son named Matthew who is facing kidnapping and sexual assault charges. On august 15th, Matthew's accuser Stephanie told the principal that he dragged her to the bathroom and assaulted her in the school bathroom. He has been kicked out of school and now attends an alternative school. Lanesha has 3 children and has never been married. Lanesha is a Personal Care Aide at HomeNurse, Inc. However, she had to stop working.
It has been over 3 months since the incident and Lanesha states feeling stressed and overwhelmed daily. She reports that Matthews grades and behavior has changed drastically. He lashes out, talks back, smokes and constantly fights with his brother and sister. Matthew was diagnosed with asthma at the age of 2. Lanesha stated that they have always managed to keep his asthma under control. However, since the incident, Matthew had an asthma attack.
On top of having to care for her three children and worrying about Matthew's future, Lanesha is also battling Leukemia. Matthew's father is not an active parent and Lanesha feels that his new wife interferes with him bonding with Matthew. Before getting kicked out of school, Mathew was on the basketball team and had a deep desire to continue playing.
Lanesha played basketball in middle and high school. She also went to college for early childhood development but didn't finish. She wanted to play in college, but due to lack of support she didn't.
Lanesha reported that this incident has completely drained her. She has had the time to care for herself. For the past 3 month she has been advocating for her son's innocence and has hired a lawyer for legal assistance. She constantly feels tired and can't get out of bed some days.
Lanesha also reports that Matthews father had behavioral issues and had to be sent to military school when he was younger. Lanesha has agreed to continue counseling.
Mental Status Examination
Lanesha stated that she constantly felt sad, overwhelmed and hopelessness regarding her oldest son Matthew. This was apparent as she cried throughout the interview and kept her head down.

Lanesha meets the criteria for
