Use the Theory of constraints and build a table where you determine
- the steps in serving customers at a restaurant (more than 4 steps)
-the number of employees and their role in each step
-average processing time per customer
-effective capacity per worker
-labor cost per worker
Show how the restaurant's performance would change hiring more staff to face the current constraint. (show graphs if possible).
Remember should be based on meeting the rate of customer demands per hour. Calculate the profitability of the recommended staffing at each step with the revenue and costs shown for each alternative proposal.
Using the values you found calculate the following things(both with and without the new hirings):
-the busy time
-average number of people waiting to be served
-average number of people waiting and being served
-average time customers will wait to be served
-amount of time customers will be in the system
(show the work)
Use the Little's Law to analyze the restaurant and show the work
(you will need number of orders per day and average number of orders in the system to calculate how long an order stays in the processing area, and how long does an average order take to be completed)
Write conclusions and recommendations for the restaurant to improve its performance, (how to minimize customers waiting times and employees idle times) considering that it has been losing customers in the past 5 months.
