Use this scenario to answer the questions. Answer completely but concisely. Between 2005 and 2006, the fourth-grade students from two demographically similar elementary schools in Scotland were chosen to take part in a study to evaluate a physical fitness program that encouraged kids to walk to school. One of the schools was chosen by the study administrators to incorporate a program in the fourth-grade curriculum encouraging students to walk to school, and information and resources were shared with the students' parents. No additional program was incorporated in the second school. After the program, the change in average distance traveled to school by walking among the fourth-grade students was assessed and compared between the schools. Fourth-grade students in the school where the program was implemented increased their average distance walked to school by over eight times. Fourth-grade students in the school without the program had only a very minor increase in the average distance walked to school. The difference between the two schools was statistically significant. (Mckee, Mutrie, Crawford, & Green (September 2007). Promoting walking to school: results of a quasi-experimental trial. Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health, 61(9): 818-823.) 49. (3 points): Was random allocation incorporated in this study? If so, explain how random allocation was incorporated. If not, briefly discuss a potential problem due to lack of random allocation. 50. (3 points): Did the study incorporate multiple subjects to reduce chance variation in the results? If so, discuss how. If not, briefly discuss a potential problem due to lack of many subjects
