User Stacey is an unmarried woman who employed the services of a reproductive center to assist her in locating a gestational surrogate sperm donor and egg donor to effectuate a gestational-surrogate pregnancy. Stacey reviewed donor profiles, selected sperm and egg donors, and purchased the donated eggs and sperm. The reproductive center paired Stacey with Teresa, a surrogate. Stacey and Teresa executed a contract entitled "Surrogacy Agreement," which listed the contractual terms of their arrangement. The Surrogacy Agreement designates Teresa as the surrogate and Stacey as the intended mother. Teresa agrees to assist Stacey in achieving Stacey's goal of becoming a parent by carrying to term embryos created through in vitro fertilization using an anonymous donor's sperm and an anonymous donor's egg. Both Stacey and Teresa acknowledged they entered into the surrogacy agreement voluntarily and with the advice of counsel. Under the terms of the Surrogacy Agreement, Teresa agreed to relinquish immediately upon birth physical custody of and all rights or obligations to any children born as a result of the surrogacy. Teresa also agreed that any child born would be Stacey's child. Teresa agreed that she would sign any documents necessary that would provide that Stacey would be the legal mother of any children born to her.
