When Short Island General Hospitals Recruiting department receives a vacancy notice from a practice department (e.g., cardiac surgery, oncology, pediatrics, etc.) through interoffice mail, a clerk in Recruiting looks up the title in an electronic job database to find the jobs requirements (e.g., degree, years of experience, etc.) and the job description, then creates an advertisement which is sent to professional journals.
