A common form of chemical phase envelope is the P$-$h

diagram, or a plot of the enthalpy $($on the x$-$axis$)$ against

log absolute pressure $($on the y$-$axis$)$ for the liquid and

vapor phases which are in equilibrium with each other.

An example of this type of diagram appears below:

Aspen may be used to generate a phase envelope like

this. A flash tank is a great way to carry out this kind of

analysis in the simulation environment $-$ an arbitrary

feed stream to a FLASH$-2$ separator will produce liquid

and vapor streams at a specified pressure, given that the

vapor fraction is between zero and one.

For isopropanol and the SRK thermodynamic method,

generate a phase envelope $($P$-$h diagram$)$ for pressures

from $1$ bar to within $0\mathrm{.}2$ bar of the critical pressure. For

the enthalpy values, use units of $\frac{kJ}{\text{m}\text{o}\text{l}\text{.}}$
