You are interested in designing a system for the low-
pressure separation of acetone/chloroform mixtures.
Perform the following tasks to assess the binary mix of
chemicals:
(a) Using the NRTL thermodynamic method, create a
temperature-molar composition (T-xy) diagram (with
acetone as the primary component) at 0.6 bar total
pressure.
(b) Identify any compositions (by mole fraction of each
component) that result in azeotropes.
(c) Also using the NRTL thermodynamic method, create a
single vapor vs. liquid composition plot (a y-x plot) for the
same system at both 10\deg C and 45\deg C.
(Hints: to evaluate all x and y at specific temperatures,
you will need to first generate P-xy data. Also, various
plot options will appear when viewing the input tab,
after you run the appropriate analysis.)
