Using complete sentences, post a response to each the following question: What kind of things did you think about when we were looking over my transcripts in class? I have couple of samples how it should look: "Some of the things that I thought about when looking over the professors transcript was that your grades don't define the person you are. Looking at Professors Cramer's grades reminded me of a time in my life where I wasn't happy. However, its possible to overcome it and continue. Although not easy, its definitely possible to change and better yourself just like our professor did. Sharing his experience with the class serves as a reminder that there is a solution to anything we come across even if it doesn't seem that way. School is not going to get easy, if anything it will probably get difficult but we should try to remember that there are different approaches/ options to get the results you want in school. For example, study groups, tutoring, YouTube etc., are alternatives students can explore to earn a higher grade in class. Stressing and over thinking will not help either. Taking one step at a time will help with the stress. Grades are important and we should definitely try to earn a good grade. However, we should not let our negative thoughts and feelings get in the way of the student pushing forward with his/her career goal. " "As I was looking at transcripts in class, I realized that your grades don't determine who you are as a person, it doesn't determine your knowledge. Throughout my Highschool experience, I wasn't always focused, or really engaged in the material I was supposed to be learning. It was very reassuring and inspirational when hear about Professor Kramer's recovery from depression, I know that mental health is a very sensitive topic right now, and it's something more common now than it was earlier on. Professor Kramer's struggle in school gave him a better outlook on education and perspective. Doing good in school is important, but I think you shouldn't overwork yourself and push yourself too hard. Mental health, and your happiness above all." "As I was looking over the transcript in class, I was actually reminded of my own high school experiences, as I was completely unable to engage, and thus did poorly. It was certainly encouraging to hear Professor Kramer's story, and how you can recover from difficult situations like he did. I would be curious to hear further how Professor Kramer recovered from his depression (he may have mentioned and I just missed it, so please enlighten me if so). I suspect many of our weekly discussion readings have been related to his journey out of depression, as they would be useful lessons to do so. It seems to me that Professor Kramer's struggles in school actually gave him a unique perspective that has allowed him to provide an especially useful curriculum and toolset for others. I have really enjoyed the discussion readings, and am glad for that type of learning
