The Application is the longest and most important part of the answer. It involves applying the Rule to the facts of the problem or question. You should use the facts to explain how the rule leads to the conclusion.

He had a couple of losses and in a fit of anger, he told Harry that he was no good as a coach and to pack his bags and leave. Harry had 12 months left on his contract at the time.
