Using the electronic databases provided by theLiberty University Libraryand other sources, search for journal articles in professional peer-reviewed accounting, ethics, and business journals that pertain to the 2 major ethics systems proposed for the accounting professiondeontology and utilitarianism. You may also use scholarly books written on those ethical systems.
After you have researched the ethics systems, write a research paper in current A.P.A format. You must include the following core components in your research paper:
- Describe in detail both ethics systems using professional literature, textbooks, and course presentations. You must cite a minimum of 5 scholarly sources for each ethics system (TOTAL OF AT LEAST 10 SCHOLARLY SOURCES (5 SOURCES FOR DEONTOLOGY AND 5 SOURCES FOR UTILITARIANISM)). It is possible that a particular journal article could address both ethics systems.
- Evaluate each system with respect to the following:Organizational culture of the accounting profession
- AICPA Code of Professional Conduct
- Present logical and thorough arguments, supported by scholarly sources, textbooks and course presentations, and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct to defend the ethics system you believe is most appropriate for the accounting profession.
This assignment should be 10- 15 pages and follow current A.P.A format. The paper must include references from at least 5-7 different peer-reviewed accounting and business journals. Be sure to include a title page, outline, and a reference page in addition to your essay pages. The title page, outline, and reference page DO NOT count as part of the 10- 15-page length requirement.
