Tim did not act in an ethical manner. While he was still using the companies cost, he was using strictly the lowest cost in order to profit more. This means that, over the course of the year he was purchasing lumber, the prices were obviously going up, and he was not following company policy when it came to the price increase. Given that he was using only the lowest cost, that means the company is going to be out however much the prices have increased for the wood. Tim was ethical by using lumber that was approved by his company, and not selecting lumber he did not get approval on, but he was still essentially stealing money from the company by not using up to date pricing per invoice on the lumber throughout the yea
