Activity One - The Trait theory has been born out of the idea that leaders are born. Do you believe that leaders are born or that individuals can learn to be a leader? Explain and support your answer. Remember you must choose a point of view (check the DB guidelines for more on this). You should respond to at least one other of your classmates post. Your initial post is due om or before Saturday and the response to another classmate is due by Sunday.

Questions are based on Case Study 3.1 in the Northouse Text on page 60 to 62
- Based on the skills approach, how would you assess Dr. Wood's leadership and his relationship to the members of the Elder Care Project team? Will the project be successful?
- Does Dr. Wood have the skills necessary to be an effective leader of this research team?
- The skills model describes three important competencies for leaders: problem-solving skills, social judgment skills, and knowledge. If you were to coach Dr. Wood using this model, what competencies would you address with him? What changes would you suggest that he make in his leadership?
