T They have piped their oil to refineries in Ontario to Eastern Usa.In the past years there have been plans to expand MEC's production and pipe oil sands oil throughout the USA to satisfy their demands for ''ethical oils' .MEC was willing to build a new pipeline but it was met with serious resistance from Americian environmentalists . The pipeline project did not go through and the MEC was now looking for a new way to expand its operations.Enter China. China has been growing on an unprecedneted and is need of energy needs by using the vast coal deposits located throughout their country.Envirnomental impacts have led them from coal to a ''lesser polluting'' fossil fuel.The Chiense Governemnt is intersted in striking a deal with the Canadian governemnt and MEC to build a pipeline from Fort McMurray.Alberta to Kitimat BC and then ship the oil via superoiltanker to China for further refining and use. Canadian Citizens: The sad part is that a good number of Canadian citizens have no idea or don't care about the pipeline proposal,. Those that do see both sides of the story understand the economic benefits, especially in these troubled economic times but are concerned about the possible destruction of our natural environment. They continue to indirectly support MEC by purchasing gas at their locate gas stations
