Values are beliefs or attitudes about what is good, right, desirable, worthwhile, etc. Your value system is the ways you organize, rank, prioritize and make decisions based on your values. These two principles provide the foundation from which we all make or personal and professional judgments and choices. So, we can say that our individual values exist as a complex set of interweaving personal policies or priorities that serve as a guide for decision-making. Values may be based on knowledge, aesthetics, practicality, moral grounds, or on a combination of these. Some types of values include the following:

• Knowledge-based value
• Aesthetic-based value
• Instrumental value
• Intrinsic value

There have been studies done questioning whether or not women are more ethical than men, and those "studies have implied that they are, at least by some measure".
