Variables

• State: identifier for state
• ColGrad: % of state population with college degree
• EdSpend: per capita spending on K-12 education
• Metro%: % of population living in metropolitan areas
• Age: median age of state's population
• Location: location of the state listed as Northeast, Southeast, West or Midwest

You will need to do the following in order to answer questions:

• Run a linear regression model to estimate college graduation rate using education spending, metro area, age and location (northeast must be your reference category for education).

You will be asked to answer the following questions:

1) What variables are significant at an alpha=0.05?

2) What case does the intercept represent?

3) Estimate the college graduation rate for a state that:

• Spends 1500 per capita on education
• Has a metro area of 75.0
• Has a median age of 35
• Is in the north east
